New York City Facial Rejuvenation

New York City Facial Rejuvenation for Sun Damaged Skin

Facial rejuvenation has advanced so much in the last few years, that it can be performed on a lunch break. In fact microdermabrasion is just one of these procedures. Before deciding on a plastic surgeon to evaluate your skin and health, be sure to check out all credentials to be sure he is board certified and has performed at least 15 of these types of surgeries. Asking them to show before and after pictures of his procedures will show how well he does his job. This also ensures he is experienced in the specific facial rejuvenation procedure you wish to have done.

Most people who desire New York City facial rejuvenation (for that specific locale), do so to look better. But, to the plastic surgeon, it isn't just about looking more youthful, it's about eliminating pre-cancerous splotches, freckled areas and wrinkles. By the time we reach thirty years of age, if we have spent a lot of time in the sun without proper protection such as sunscreen with a high SPF, our skin will show it. There will be large pores, dark spots, brown discoloration and spider veins on the cheeks or inside the nostrils as well. There are several methods of treatment in New York City for facial rejuvenation dependent upon the degree of sun damage. Keep in mind that rejuvenation isn’t the same as a full blown New York City face lift.

One procedure used fairly often, including New York City facial rejuvenation, is the chemical peel. This procedure costs about $300-450 per peel, and will increase the collagen in the skin. It also works very quickly and recovery time is just a few days to a week. Another treatment popular amongst busy women is the microdermabrasion which is done on the lunch break. A gel is painted upon the face to remove dead skin, tighten pores and fine wrinkles and refresh sun damaged skin. After treatment, the patient may return back to work. This procedure costs around $75 to $100 per visit. Needed visits may be as many as five times.

Laser resurfacing is a much more intense surgery using a CO2 laser. This New York City facial rejuvenation procedure will repair the skin better than any of the other methods, but also may cost around $4,000. Afterward, some patients opt to have a full face lift, especially if they have droopy eyelids. This may cost as much as $6,000 to $25,000. But the results will last for several years and all sun damage will be eradicated for good. Continuing to apply sun block will ensure no more sun damage will occur.

Types of New York City Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

Most of us will need facial rejuvenation eventually especially if we have sun damaged skin. In fact wrinkles, splotches, freckles, and brown patches usually show up fairly early, by thirty years of age. All of these conditions are due to how much time the skin was exposed to the sun, and whether an SPF sunscreen lotion was used regularly. The good news is sun damaged and precancerous skin can be reversed by a process called New York City facial rejuvenation. This may consist of minimal peels, laser, microdermabrasion, creams, and even a full face skin resurfacing with a CO2 laser.

If the skin isn't too damaged, facial rejuvenation will result in a brighter more youthful result. For example, a chemical peel is one form by which the face is treated with a glycolic or strong chemical solution that burns off the top layer of skin. There will be a little itching and burning, but a fan is commonly used to reduce discomfort which is minimal. Once the chemical solution has been rinsed off, the patient may go home. The face will be red and may develop some scabbing after a few days, but keeping it moist with petroleum jelly will help it to heal faster. Once healed, this method of facial rejuvenation will reveal healthy new skin, along with a radiant complexion.

In office laser treatments for New York City facial rejuvenation use light pulse to remove wrinkles, age spots, freckles and skin discoloration. This type of treatment tightens the skin as well and minimizes large pores. Another procedure called microdermabrasion works by an applied gel which has gritty properties that gently scrub off the outer layer of skin. It's actually an easy treatment that can be done during lunch. Other methods which work to reduce or eliminate fine lines and problem pores, are creams meant for that purpose called topicals. Over the counter creams are much more gentle but are somewhat effective, whereas a prescription topical will be much more so.

Some individuals swear by botox and collagen injections because there is no down time, and the results last approximately 3-6 months. Finally, the most dramatic improvement for the skin is laser resurfacing, with a full face lift. This method of New York City facial rejuvenation is not inexpensive but does allow the skin to become much healthier, and with sun blocking creams it will remain that way for many years.
